In Her Mom’s “Shoes”

The big night is coming up!!! Thinking about it is driving her mom crazy. She remembers the day when her little girl could fit in her arms.

I know you probably think she is getting married and moving to Australia. But Celia is only 13 and in 8th grade! School Prom is coming up and she has been super excited! Everyone at her school is talking about what they’re going to wear and who they’re going with. She already has one of those questions down. Celia and her friends are all going together. But, she has no idea what to wear!

Little did she know, her mom has been preparing her enter life for just this moment. One night when Celia was lying in bed texting her friends, her mom came into her room holding a huge, beautiful dress on her arm. In a soft voice, she said, “My mother got me this for my prom when I was your age and I thought I could give it to you.”

Celia pauses for a moment. She could not believe the beauty of the dress. After she came back to earth it just hit her what was coming out of her mom’s mouth. She jumps out of her bed and gives her mom a big hug. “Thank you so much mom! I love it, I love it, I love it!!!” she yells. “Your welcome honey.” Her mom says. Celia runs into the bathroom to change. When she comes out she sees her mom with her hands over her mouth crying. They both look in the mirror. Her mom is squeezing her shoulders. At the moment Celia made a commitment to herself that she will pass down this drees for generations.

They both will cherish this moment forever!
