The Outer Space

Have you ever wonder what is out there? Do you think there could be life on other planets? I have always been curious and fascinated about our planet Earth and its neighbors.

In April this year, I drew this picture of an astronaut in space. I was inspired to create this drawing in honor of Space Day! What is Space Day? you may ask. At school, we celebrate Space Day to bring an awareness and the importance of STEM. The abbreviation STEM stands for Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics. We celebrate Space Day to also encourage people to learn more about the outer world.
I was very happy with my self when I finished this drawing. But I didn't just draw a astronaut and a couple stars. I drew the moon, the sun, and the planet Saturn. It was the first planet the popped in my head. When I started to make the stars I made a mistake! And yes, I tried to erase it but it made it worse! A few seconds later I decided to turn it into a black whole which ended-up just fine. Now it looks like the astronaut and the stars are getting sucked into the black whole. After that, as always, I started shading! I used a Q-tip to make the stars and the planet Saturn more 3D. I also shaded the craters on the moon to make it 3D.
I hope you guys learned a lot about Space Day and the technic I use for my sketching.
Enjoy!!!

I too wonder about life beyond Earth.
Loving the technique!
